Tire Iron BeadBrakR slide show

This is the Tire Iron BeadBrakR kit. We'll call it the "TIBB", for ease of reference. The red storage pouch contains everything you'll need to break the bead on a motorcycle tire, and to remove the tire to make repairs or to put on fresh tires. Here's the components in the pouch. Every item has been carefully selected and tested for ease of operation. The main parts are the CORNER, the PLUNGER, the LEVER, the LOCKBAR, and the TIRE IRONS There's a few parts which are for your convenience, but are not required to operate the TIBB. We'll describe them later

This is the CORNER It has openings at each end to receive a TIRE IRON. Quick release pins lock the TIRE IRONS into place.

These WOOD BLOCKS prevent damage to the rim and help the TIBB stay upright when lowering a tire onto the TIBB

This is the VALVE STEM MULTI-TOOL. It serves 3 functions: 1.) It can deflate the tire 2.) it can remove a valve core 3.) it can pull a new tubeless valve core into place on the rim

These are the plastic RIM PROTECTORS. The prevent scratching or marring of the rim when you're removing the rubber tire from the rim. The red lanyards can be tied to the spokes to keep them in place. You can make your own rim protectors from short sections of garden hose, split down one side.

The is the PLUNGER. The large duckbill end will press against the sidewall of the tire, causing it to separate from the rim

This is the LOCK BAR. It snugs up against the tire tread, and prevents the tire from slipping when you are applying pressure to break the bead

This is a bottle of BEAD GOOP. It's a special tire mounting lube that's slippery when wet, but sticky when dry. It can be diluted with water but we prefer to use it straight out of the bottle. Refill bottles can be purchased from BestRest

These are the TIRE IRONS. They are specially designed to fit the BeadBrakR. Other brands of tire irons will NOT work with the TIBB

This is the LEVER. It has a slot in one end to receive a tire iron, and it has a series of holes in the middle that receive the PLUNGER. On the far end it has a single hole that will fit into a vertical tire iron that has been placed into the CORNER.

The openings of the CORNER are sized to receive a TIBB TIRE IRON. Other brands of tire irons won't fit.

TIBB TIRE IRONS have two specially machined holes.

Titanium TIRE IRONS made by Aerostich are licensed to allow placement of our patented holes. A trio of these titanium irons weigh only 9 ounces, whereas the standard steel tire irons weigh 15 ounces.

The specially designed spoon of the titanium tire iron makes tire mounting much easier than a standard steel tire iron

BestRest can provide TIBB kits with either steel or titanium tire irons. Prices vary.

Another special feature of the Aerostich tire iron is the groove on the flat end. This groove makes it easier to hook the iron on the rim and prevent it from slipping.

Slip the FLAT END of a tire iron into one hole of the CORNER

Align the hole of the CORNER with the hole of the TIRE IRON. The hole you select is a function of tire size. Start with the hole closest to the inside of the corner, then adjust placement if necessary

Place a locking pin into the hole.

This is the end of the VALVE STEM MULTI TOOL. It threads onto the end of your valve stem and allows you to pull it thru the hole of the rim. This tool will not work for tubed tires, since the overall diameter of the knob is larger than most holes found in the rim

At the T-handle of the VALVE STEM MULTI-TOOL, each side has a diferent purpose.

This shows the valve core removal tool. Place this over the end of the valve stem and twist it slightly until it engages the valve core. Then unscrew the valve core. Note: if there's any air in the tire when you're removing the core, that air pressure will cause the valve core to blow out of the end of the stem when you reach the ends of the threads. Be ready to catch it in the palm of your hand

This shows the stud that will DEFLATE the tire. Thread it onto the valve stem. As the blunt post touches the end of the valve core, the tire will be deflated.

This shows the threaded end of the knob that will pull a new valve stem into a tubeless tire

The big wooden block with the slot is designed to fit a tire iron placed on edge. This keeps the TIBB standing upright when you're lowering a tire into place. The big wooden block also acts as a "sand foot" when using the TIBB in soft field conditions. It prevents the TIBB from sinking into soft earth

The small wood blocks have slots in them that fit the inside edge of the CORNER. The red lanyard prevents loss of the blocks when you're playing outdoors.
