R12GS Heavy Duty Engine Skid Plate - Mark 4 This is the latest generation of engine protection for the R12GS, with super heavy duty shock absorbing bumpers, a stainless mounting bracket, and stainless mounting hardware.

The BMW R12GS Engine SkidPlate replaces the stock BMW unit. This new expedition-quality SkidPlate is designed to give your engine, exhaust header, exhaust collector, and O2 sensors the maximum amount of protection when your're going into harms's way. The rear of the SkidPlate extends all the way back to the centerstand SkidPlate. Material is precision formed and welded .125" thick aircraft aluminum, so it'll stand up to almost any obstacle. The mounting screws are recessed flush so there's no hang-ups if you're sliding over a log or dodging a rock.

The front cutouts are designed to work with our R12GS SplashGuard. With both sytems in place you'll have the maximum amount of protection available, and still have sufficient air flow to critical engine components.

The BestRest Center Stand Skid Plate is also shown in the background in many photos, it's the one with the BestRest oval logo. It is not included with the Engine SkidPlate, they must be ordered separately.
