GoPro Hero 3 Camera : The GoPro Digital Hero 3 is a waterproof three megapixel wrist camera. For motorcyclists that means you can still ride in the rain and take photos or videos without damaging an expensive camera.

The Hero 3 takes high resolution 2048 x 1536 photos using an f2.8 lens. Automatic metering compensates for most lighting conditions.

You can strap it on your wrist so it's always at your fingertips. Or you can strap it to the bike and record yourself in the saddle as you ride your favorite roads or trails. With a little imagination you can attach it to your handlebar, footpeg, crash bar, saddlebag, etc. You could even Velcro it to your helmet for a bird's eye view of the instruments and roadway.

Now you can take your own videos while you ride.

R12GS Super Pillion Plate : BMW R1200GS Super Pillion Plate - For solo riders only, it replaces the stock luggage rack and provides a solid cargo platform for all your gear, fuel cells, Pelican case, or other items you want to mount behind the rider. It also provides a mounting platform for any of our BestRest BackRests.

The SPP is crafted from laser cut and precision formed aircraft aluminum. Mounting brackets are steel and they attach to the frame. At the front you will use your stock seat latch to lock the plate in place. Tie-down slots along the edges provide plenty of points for strapping your load securely.

Prototype unit shown has an aluminum powerdercoat finish. Production models may be black, we haven't decided yet.

Installation takes about 30 minutes. Swapping from the Super Pillion Plate to a stock configuration with the BMW luggage rack and passenger seat only takes about 10 minutes.

Works with BMW System Cases, Jesse Luggage Systems, and Touratech panniers.

NEW Classic II BackRest : NEW Classic 2 BackRest. This newest BackRest is a simplified version of our original stainless steel version (no longer in production). The Classic 2 features a fully adjustable backpad, adjustable and folding frame, and it can lock down in the folded position when not in use.

When folded the Classic 2 is only 4" high and 9" long. When erected the pad is 13" high. The base plate measures 6" wide and 5" long.

You can mount the Classic 2 to any BestRest CargoRest, PillionPlate, or ToolPlate. It will also mount to any flat surface (using your own hardware).

IPF REV1 Lights : REV1 lights measure only 2.4" high x 3.2" wide x 2.5" deep. The silver lightweight high impact resin housing contains a powerful max white 55W H3 bulb that performs in the 110W class. The multi-reflector lens provides a driving/flood pattern, perfect for night time driving or daytime conspicuity.

The best feature of this system is the WIRELESS REMOTE SWITCH. It measures only .5" x 1.25" x 2" and can be mounted anywhere with velcro or double stick tape. You can put it in your tankbag, on your handlebars, or anywhere else that's convenient.

REV1 lights mount to any flat surface that measures 2"x2", using high performance double-stick tape (included). They can be aimed vertically and locked in place with two simple set screws.

REV1 light systems come with two lamp assemblies, the wireless remote switch, relay and wiring harness. Price is $180

We thought that horizontal adjustment was important for motorcycle applications so we designed a simple but effective stainless steel bracket that allows the REV1 lights to be adjusted vertically, as well as swivel to the left and right. You'll be able to aim them exactly where you need your pattern to fall. The brackets can be mounted to any flat surface and most lightbars, using a 6mm machine screw. Our REV1 brackets are an addtional $20 per set.

GS Volcano Ride Oct '04 : Oct 1-3, 2004. Northwest GS'ers rode the forests near Mt Rainier, Mt Adams, and Mt St Helens. We were fortunate to see part of St. Helen's recent eruption.

The ride was hosted by Wayne from South Sound BMW, and Joe (former co-owner of Tacoma BMW).

Great food, new friends, and quintessential GS riding made the weekend one to remember.

Magruder Corridor : Magruder Corridor from Elk City, ID to Darby, MT. It's a road cut thru the mountains of central Idaho, sandwiched between two wilderness areas. For the most part the road is passable with an automobile, but there's a few rough spots and a high clearance rig would be advised. It's a perfect BMW GS ride, except when there's snow on the road (as I experienced). The photos showing the snow are stretches of road where I had to get off the bike and push, pull, and/or otherwise manhandle the 700 lb. bike. Knobbies would've helped but for this trip the bike was wearing dual purpose Tourances. There were a few hunting camps along the 75 mile stretch, but one portion was particularly remote and uninhabited. If I had a problem or fell down I'd have been in big trouble. Thanks to careful riding and God's grace I made it thru to the far side. This route is definitely NOT recommended in wet/snowy weather.
